At the Microbiome Restoration Center (MRC), we provide 2 (soon to be 3) practitioner qualifications:
Certified Healthy Gut Practitioners (or Health Coaches)
Certified Microbiome Analysts (or Health Coaches)
Certified Early Life Practitioners (courses commences 2025)
A Certified Healthy Gut Practitioner has completed our 10-week intensive course, Naturopathic & Functional Medicine Approaches to Gastrointestinal Disorders. This course trains clinicians in the advanced uses of probiotics, the clinical applications of a wide range of prebiotics, the vital importance of the gut microbiome to health, and the important role of dysbiosis as a driver of disease and dysfunction. Graduates have been trained in the MRC’s unique microbiome-first and evidence-based philosophy, and are proficient in treating the most commonly encountered gastrointestinal conditions from a microbiome-centric position – from reflux to peptic ulcers (& H. pylori) to gluten-related disorders to SIBO to bacterial & protozoal infections to leaky gut to inflammatory bowel disease to IBS to constipation (and much more). They understand the importance of preserving, and optimising, the microbiome in their choice of dietary, supplemental, and herbal interventions they use.
A Certified Microbiome Analyst has completed our 10-week rigorous course, Advanced Microbiome Manipulation, that delves deeply into the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of our microbiomes. They can confidently choose the most appropriate stool test (and testing technologies) from options around the world for their patients. They can deeply delve into the results, extract the key insights, and formulate bespoke treatment plans to optimise your ecosystem. They are well-versed in the role of the microbiome in a range of conditions, from obesity to metabolic dysfunction to cognitive decline & Alzheimer’s disease to premature aging & longevity enhancement to autism spectrum disorders to mitochondrial optimisation to depression & anxiety to cancer treatment optimisation (and side effect minimisation). And they are well-versed in the use of a wide range of tools (from strain-specific probiotics, prebiotics, polyphenols, herbal medicines, and dietary & lifestyle interventions) that can be used to selectively modify and optimise your gut ecosystem.
For graduates of the MRC’s programs, the microbiome truly does come first – microbiome impacts are carefully considered when deciding the optimal choice of treatments.
Some of the clinicians and health coaches listed below have both MRC qualifications – some only one.
